The Group identified that workplace safety and health is one of the key areas of sustainability for its business. In this regard, it
continuously aims to provide a safe working environment for all employees, customers, suppliers and business partners entering
its premises and ensures safe practices in all aspects.
Regular workplace safety inspections and audits and training form part of its comprehensive measures to ensure workplaces are
secure, safe, neat and tidy. Various health and safety programmes such as fire drills, safety system checks on equipment and
basic first aid training is held regularly to ensure that employees are well prepared in the event of emergencies. It has formed
Emergency Response Team to handle emergency situations pending the arrival of assistance from the respective authorities
during emergency situations.
The Group also provides employees with the right protection equipment such as face masks, hand gloves and safety shoes as
well as educating them on the correct ways to use such equipment.
Recognising that its employees are the Group’s greatest asset and strength, it continues to focus on human capital development
to help employees reach their full potential. It provides on-the-job training, both internal and external, to ensure that they are well
equipped with the necessary skills, job knowledge and competency levels to execute their roles and responsibilities effectively
and efficiently as well as for their personal and career development.
The Group recognises that promoting good health is an essential part of its responsibilities to employees. In this regard, various
initiatives such as sports activities are carried out regularly, aimed at developing employees’ healthy lifestyle. It also takes care
of the health and well-being of employees via medical benefits as well as Group Personal Accident and Group Hospitalisation
and Surgical Insurance coverage.
The Group recognises that it can make a positive impact to the community by giving financial and other resources towards meaningful causes. It provides industrial training for students undertaking various courses every year. During the financial year, the Group had continued to take in students from local institutions, colleges and universities as trainees. This practice provided a chance for the Group to hire talented candidates as well as supporting the Malaysian educational system for human capital development.

At YBS International, our organization believes in inculcating young talents and encouraging exploration of knowledge and stimulating interest to learn. This in return will create a vast talent pool of knowledge within the young society. The English Scrabble Competition event was held in Butterworth Digital Library, organized by Penang Math Platform and Malaysia Scrabble Association (MSA). Targeted group was focused on the Secondary school students from 13 – 17 years of age.
Total number of students participated was 120 paxes and the event was officiated by YB Jagdeep Deputy Chief Minister & Penang STEM Chairman.

YBS Group of Companies participated and sponsored 500 Limau Kasturi trees at the Eco River in Sungai Rambai Bukit Mertajam. 35 employees, volunteered and planted the trees along the riverbank covering a mass of 3.3 kilometers in length. The Group effort was to enhance Teamwork and support the conservation of Go Green natural resources and the improvement of quality of life for our local communities. Our CSR activities have also engaged our employees in giving back to society, which has created a sense of purpose and pride in our organization.
